Hayden is walking!!

Posted by Kari

I finally got an ok video to show you all of Hayden walking. He has also mastered the sippy cup (he never had a bottle). He likes to show off his sippy cup skills whenever people or other babies are around. We’re getting ready to go out to look for some winter clothes. We’ve had our first few cold days and are already looking forward to summer. It’s hard to believe that this time last year we were still looking forward to the birth of our sweet little baby.

I got curious and finally googled splenda and aspartame. Nasty stuff, but don’t take my word for it. Google it yourself. I won’t touch anything labeled “diet” every again. I’d rather be fat than get brain tumors and cancer.

We got together last night for desert with a great young couple from our church. They’re getting ready to have their first baby (a girl) the day before Hayden’s 1st birthday.

That’s all for now, I hope you enjoy the video!

10 Months and counting…

Posted by Kari

1st thing in the morning

We’ve successfully made it to 10 months! Hayden is walking for real now, not just stumbling around. It happened seemingly out of the blue about 2 weeks ago. Helmut came home from work and Hayden was so excited to see him that he put his hands up in the air like a monkey (but much cuter) and walked over to him. I wish we had a video of it. This past week we started having play dates for him with a wonderful girl from church and the boy she nannies for (who is 11 months old…perfect huh?) so we are both getting some much needed socialization.

Helmut and I are waiting for the renewal of his visa and/or temporary letter so no visits to Mexico for a couple of months, hopefully less. These things are so stressful as I’m sure anyone who’s had to do this can attest to. I’m absolutely dreading another meeting with the immigration people, but at least this time we have some solid living proof of our relationship.

In my spare time I have been getting totally addicted to the 700 Club. They have some really interesting stuff on there. They really try to educate people on health issues and ways to prevent health problems naturally. Yesterday I had to have a mole removed (a warning to all you sunbathers….I’m only 24). As tiny as this problem seems it (along with months of struggle to regain my energy and health since Hayden’s birth) have brought thoughts of what I can do to live healthier to my mind.

Hope you enjoy the update, we will hopefully be updating this more often now that Helmut has taught me how. I still haven’t figured out how to upload pictures to a gallery, but I will really try to learn. I’m also working on getting a short video of Hayden walking, so you can look for that sometime in the next couple of days!

Hayden Joshua

We want to thank God for allowing us to have a baby and knowing that he is healthy. Also notice that there were no complications during the birth and Kari was really strong and courageous.
